The very first Dance Music Awards took place in Boksburg, Ekhuruleni last night and celebrated the very best of African dance music. Winners were voted for online by the South African public over the past few weeks and, unsurprisingly, Black Coffee stole the show with three awards. Black Motion and Julian Gomes followed suit with two awards last night. The event proved that South African dance music is at the best place it’s ever been and it’s made us excited to see where the genre heads over the next year.
