American girl-group, Fifth Harmony, are back with a bang! The former The X Factor USA contestants have just announced that their upcoming second studio album 7/47 drops worldwide on May 20 and that they’ve teamed up with rapper Ty Dolla $ign for the lead single off the album called Work From Home. Initially, the track was supposed to simply be titled Work but the group decided to change this to avoid confusion with Rihanna’s current single.
The girls dropped an incredible first single. There are subtle elements of tropical house alongside a deep hip-hop beat with an incredibly catchy chorus. The girls have fantastic vocal abilities and they really show it off on this track. The track is sexy, catchy and won’t surprise me if it becomes their biggest hit to date. Ty Dolla $ign is one of the biggest upcoming rappers on the hip-hop scene and I think his feature on the track will introduce Fifth Harmony to a wider audience than ever before.
The production on the track is slick and neat and seems to capture one’s attention on first listen. I love the new direction the girls have taken this time around. Not only does it show growth, but it shows that Fifth Harmony is capable of a lot more than simple pop songs. Bring on 7/47!
