Ella Mai Is Headed to Mzansi For Two Shows This April

Award-winning singer-songwriter Ella Mai is making her long-awaited return to Mzansi this April, with just two shows confirmed: the Konka Kulture Weekend at the Sun City Superbowl on Saturday, April 25, 2026, and a Cape Town stop at GrandWest on Sunday, April 26.

The English R&B star will headline the highly anticipated three-day Konka Kulture Weekend experience before bringing the vibes to the Mother City for a one-night-only event hosted by Vertex Events.

Mai first captured global attention with her 2018 breakout single Boo’d Up, a slow-burning anthem that earned her a Grammy Award and cemented her place in modern R&B. She followed it up with another chart favorite, Trip, proving she wasn’t a one-hit wonder.

Now, with her third studio album, Do You Still Love Me, the singer is entering a new era. The project already boasts fan-loved tracks like Little Things and Tell Her, showcasing her signature blend of vulnerability, rich vocals and classic R&B storytelling.

Since landing on the music scene in 2014, Mai has built an enviable career, collaborating with heavyweights including Babyface, Chris Brown, Usher, H.E.R., Nicki Minaj, Quavo and Ed Sheeran.

For Sun City, the April 25 show marks another major international booking at the iconic Superbowl venue. “As an iconic hosting destination, Sun City is proud to present yet another world-class event experience, thoughtfully curated to meet every guest’s expectations,” said Nombuso Buthelezi, Sun City Convention Centre Manager. “We believe that music has a unique power to unite people, creating moments of connection that transcend the ordinary. It is our intention that long after the final note, guests will leave with unforgettable memories and stories worth sharing for years to come.”

Vertex Events’ Head of Events, Zizile Mtshali, echoed that excitement: “As an events company that yearns to cater for various crowds, we are so excited to host yet another elite R&B artist in our country. We look forward to creating once-in-a-lifetime, live music experiences.”

Ticket Information

Tickets will be available via Webtickets and at Pick n Pay stores nationwide, with prices starting from R790.

With only two shows on the schedule, fans will want to move fast — because if Ella Mai’s track record is anything to go by, these nights will be filled with sing-along moments, slow jams and the kind of electric atmosphere that only live R&B can deliver.
