Local R&B songstress Elaine has dominated streaming charts around the country with her smash hit ‘You’re The One’. In fact, the song, which featured on the star’s debut EP ‘Elements’, was one of the most streamed songs on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and JOOX. Now, the star is stepping into 2021 on the right foot as the track officially achieves 7x platinum status.
Platinum is equivalent to 30,000 copies sold in South Africa, according to RiSA standards, so this means Elaine has moved 210,000 copies of the single. The track’s music video has racked up close to five million views as well.
Elaine took to social media to share the news as she posed alongside a plaque while thanking fans for their support. “What a year. Thank y’all for making my entire EP go platinum. You’re the one is 7x platinum & wow, my heart is full,” Elaine says. “I hope the new year is kinder and brings y’all the biggest blessings. Love y’all”.
2021 is set to be an even bigger year for the star who is set to drop new music on her new label Columbia Records.
