I must be honest, the first time I heard Joe Jonas was forming a new group called ‘DNCE’, I was incredibly sceptic. There was something about the group that made me uneasy – probably because it’s weird seeing Joe in a group that isn’t the Jonas Brothers. However, their lead single ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and ‘Toothbrush’ became one of my favourite pop tracks of the past 12 months. DNCE are readying the release of their debut self-titled album which is scheduled for release on the 18th of November and have chosen ‘Body Moves’ as the next single off the project.
Much like the first two singles, ‘Body Moves’ is a blend of funk and pop and showcases Joe’s high vocal range. A catchy guitar riff sets the tone of the song before more funky elements and an epic bass line are added during the chorus. The song doesn’t stray too far from the sound DNCE has created and, right now, it’s a smart move. The song sounds like yet another hit for the group and I have no doubt that it will take radio stations across the world by storm.
Joe and the band also dropped a steamy video for the track. The video sees Joe and Charlotte McKinney, from the upcoming remake of Baywatch, in an elevator where things get a little hot and heavy. The video then sees the duo partying it up with fellow models while the group also have epic shots of them singing in a grungy basement. The track is fire and I can’t wait to hear what other surprises they have in store when their debut album drops next month.
