Local dance sensation DJ Zinhle has proven that she has a great ear when it comes to understanding what audiences want. She has already delivered a string of smash hits as she explores her career as a producer and now, she’s back with yet another banger as she joins forces with Rethabile for her new single ‘Intombi Yo Muntu’.
The song drops hot off the heels of her latest smash ‘Indlovu’ and sees the producer reunite with the ‘Umlilo’ vocalist for another power anthem.
The single was inspired by DJ Zinhle’s latest collaboration with McDonald’s for the Spicy Smokey Fusion series. In four episodes, DJ Zinhle created a single which borrows from maskandi and house principles. On this single the two reference their isiZulu heritage in a celebratory maskandi-influenced house single.
Lyrically, Rethabile, in true maskandi fashion, tells the story of her being in love – specifically with a man who might not be financially affluent.
