Die Heuwels Fantasties have become the soundtrack kings for local films! As the highly anticipated Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling releases this weekend, the band have premiered their new single of the same name. The track has Die Heuwel’s signature pop sound with a bit of a dark feel to it. I’ve always loved how the band is able to attract themselves to the bubblegum pop market as well as the Afrikaans rockers – something that I think is hard to do. The frustrating this about this is that the song is not available on their new album Ja. Nee. Lekker but will be available on the new deluxe version of the record. Usually deluxe albums are fine, but since the band have just released the record in November, I’m sure many, including myself, will feel cheated.
