Demi Picks ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ As Next Single

This week, Demi Lovato’s ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ became the highest-charting single of her career so far and after her sixth studio album ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ bowed in at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, the star has picked the title track as the official second single off the project.

The power ballad is a perfect indication of the sound Demi explores on the album. Sonically, the star leans into a more R&B space and pushes herself both vocally and creatively. The single goes further as Demi adds various gospel elements to the song elevated by beautiful horns and powerful lyrics. The song also means a lot to the star and the star wanted to get vulnerable on the new record. “The first time I heard it, it really stuck with me because at the time I was going through a breakup,” Demi explains. “It’s about the vulnerability of coming out of a very serious relationship and having a tough time with it. … It also at the same time calls out a big misconception with the line, ‘You ain’t nobody ’til you got somebody,’ which again comes from that vulnerability with mixed emotions.”

While the album is filled with obvious single choices like ‘Daddy Issues’ and ‘Ruin The Friendship’, ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ shows off a more passionate side of Demi. The star gives her best vocal performance yet in the song and shows us just how much the star has grown over the past few years. Demi continues to prove that she is a force to be reckoned with and ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ is both her most impressive single and album to date.
