He’s one of the hottest rappers on the local hip-hop scene and after the release of his brilliant album Mandela Money last year, Da L.E.S is back with a bang as he drops his new offering, North God. The rapper has chosen Summer Time featuring Riky Rick as the lead single off the project, and it’s got the whole industry talking.
Da L.E.S has always been brilliant in his delivery. Not only are his rhymes super slick, but the lyrical content of the track is on point and that is the essence of a good rap track. The chorus is also super catchy and we can totally see the entire club singing along to this track. Da L.E.S and Riky Rick have brilliant chemistry together. The rappers jump from verse to verse and seem to be having a conversation of sorts while rapping – something that doesn’t happen often. Production-wise, however, the song doesn’t blow me away.
The song is great introduction to the rapper’s new album which is filled with collaborations. Besides this track with Riky Rick, Da L.E.S also teamed up with Tamara Dey, AKA, Moozlie, Burna Boy, Kid X and many more. Remember to support local music and buy the song off iTunes today!
