Kygo’s smash hit ‘Firestone’ was one of the biggest tracks of 2015. The summery tropical house jam featured the vocals of Australian singer Conrad Sewell who is now ready to take on the world in his solo capacity. The singer recently released his debut EP ‘All I Know’ and has chosen ‘Start Again’ as his new single off the project.
Conrad initially wrote the beautiful song for Kylie Minogue but after deciding that the song didn’t sound like something she would sing, he used it for his EP. I love that Conrad bears his heart and soul into the song. The emotion in his voice is clear and it’s not hidden by a massive production. Conrad also recently revealed that he recorded this song in just one take and that he was driven by “pure emotion.”
The current music market is filled with uptempo bangers and energetic pop songs so it’s great to see someone like Conrad come in and give his audience something touching and different. The song is about dealing with the end of a relationship and the singer expresses the heartache many face with this, but reveals that he has not given up on love and is ready to ‘Start Again’. I adore this song and I can’t wait to hear a lot more from the singer. I predict big things from him.
