What an awesome way to kick-start the weekend! British band, Coldplay, have just surprised the world with their brand new single ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ – the lead single off their upcoming album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ which is due for release on the 4th of December (which is also rumoured to be their very last album).
The song has a catchy, powerful guitar-driven melody and is a happy, upbeat track which is quite different from what I would have expected their lead single to be. There are some funk elements to the track as well which is super popular these days. The song is paired with Chris Martin’s brilliant vocals and is the perfect taste of the band’s upcoming album.
The album was produced by Norwegian duo Stargate together with the band’s long-time collaborator Rik Simpson. It features more guests than any previous Coldplay record, with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and MerryClayton among those appearing across its 11 tracks (12 if you count the buried treasure of the hidden track X Marks The Spot). If the album is anything like the lead single, it’ll be one that not only ticks creative boxes but also commercial ones as well. Excited about this.
