Nigerian pop star CKay has been not-so-silently slaying the African music space over the past few years – and he’s finally going global! The singer, who released his latest EP ‘Boyfriend’ earlier this year, has hit a major milestone that an African artist doesn’t often reach – the top of Shazam’s Global 200 chart.
Supported by a slew of remixes, ‘Love Nwantiti’, which featured on the star’s previous EP ‘CKay The First’ has become a vital sensation on TikTok which has helped catapult the track to international fame.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ ft Dj Yo! & AX’EL (Remx) also became a massive hit in Canada reaching the top position on Spotify Canada’s Viral 50 Chart, number five on Shazam Montreal and number five Shazam Toronto.
Besides being the soundtrack to a numerous videos from content creators around the world, the track was also used in a recent video uploaded by the official Manchester United TikTok account.
Meanwhile, CKay has also teamed up with Nahaze for the Italian remix of his latest single ‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Me’ as well as Payal Dev for the Indian remix of the song proving that collaboration can certainly take a song to all corners of the world.
