We’ve got some bad news if you’re a fan of rapper Cassper Nyovest and you’re living in Durban. The star has revealed that his latest #FillUp show, which took place in Durban last year, scared him so much that he doesn’t intend of bringing the show to the city ever again.
Taking to social media, Cassper responded to fan who asked when the rapper would bring the popular series back to the city. “I don’t think I would ever bring fill up to Durban ever again. I love the fans because they are just supportive of great ideas, but the politics of the industry there are the worst I’ve experienced in my life. I was scared for my life and I just wanted to be out. Glad it’s over,” he admitted.
Besides the politics, the concert also reportedly left the rapper with over R7 million in debt. “The Family Tree Office/Studios are on hold for now. Went through a ditch after Mabhida. Had to pay 7 million rands in debt, then the tax thing happened as well. I’m only starting to recover now. Should be back in progress in a couple of months and then we rock,” Cassper said at the time.
However, the rapper is looking forward and is excited about 2019’s chapter of the concert series. While the star has remained mum on the location so far, he says that “This years fill up is going to be so special. It’s the fifth one and it’s between two cities. Both cities are my strongest fan bases. We just waiting for the right signatures and we move on either or! Can you guess the cities?” Fans in Mafikeng, Botswana, East London and Cape Town are hoping that this year’s event takes place in their city.
Where do you think Cassper will be performing the 2019 #FillUp show at?
