She may only be starting her music career, but Carli J. Myers has already been played on radio stations all around the country with her singles Clutch and All The Kings Horses. Now, she’s back with her third offering called Walls, and shows off a new side to her as she readies her upcoming album.
Carli flew to Los Angeles to work on this new song composer and producer L. E. Doug Staiman. This time around, the singer wanted to release something uplifting which leaves you filled with hope. “I wanted to write a song that spoke to the big and small struggles each of us experience, which affect our positivity and attitude to the way we live our lives” says Carli. “We all have our setbacks and I wanted to remind us all that we have the internal strength to move through them and rise above our challenges.”
The song has a heavy folk-inspired sound and is more of the direction we think she should be heading. Vocally, Carli has never sounded better and the theme is something different and is bound to set her apart. However, the verses seem to fall flat at times. It’s clear that Carli is still looking for her sound as each track is completely different from the other and her uncertainty shows. That being said, we totally dig the sound Carli has gone with for this song and we think this will be her biggest hit yet.
