Local pop singer Carli J Myers has made important messages laced in catchy bops her unique approach to music. She did this with her hits ‘Smile’, ‘Just Saying’ and her latest smash, ‘Just Doing Me’, which saw producer Max Hurrell jump on the official remix. Now, Carli is back with a new track titled ‘Authentically Yours’.
As the name suggests, ‘Authentically Yours’ is a not-so-subtle reminder that you should always be living your life for you and not live it to please anyone else if it darkens your shine.
“’Authentically Yours’ was symbolically conceptualised as the signature of a letter, serving to remind me (and hopefully others, too) to engage in the life-long practice of living authentically,” Carli tells us. “Writing songs is very energising. It feels light and gives me a great lift and it comes out of the blue and is so creative. So the song ‘Authentically Yours’ is about not sweating the small stuff and not taking yourself too seriously.”
This single was written in Pickering in Toronto, Canada. While there, Carli worked with an esteemed team of co-writers, including Vince Degiorgio, Naomi Shobah and Rob Wells, who has worked with Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, to name a few.
The vibrant single also comes with an official music video which showcases the track’s message with a vibrant and colourful display of self-acceptance, free-spiritedness, and light-hearted fun.
