Local pop star Cara Frew is responsible for hits like ‘Free’, ‘Falling’ and ‘You Got Me’ and after a brief hiatus, the singing sensation makes her highly-anticipated return this week as she drops her new single ‘Waiting For Love’.
The single is wrapped in pop vocals and an earthy feel, with organic elements that are driven by acoustic guitar and African drums. Cara wrote it after a night out that left her with a whimsical feeling of falling in love with a stranger. Hazy memories, trying to act cool and keep composure, while getting lost on an emotional rollercoaster.
“‘Waiting For Love’ it’s definitely my favourite release so far,” Cara tells us. “It has been years in the making since the first words were written – almost four actually. Although my vocals remain pop driven the track is definitely rooted in a more organic feel, which is a little different to what I’ve released previously.
Cara adds “I think now is the perfect time for this track as lockdown has got me longing for connection and waiting for love… and I don’t think I’m alone. I wrote the song after a night out that left me with a whimsical feeling of falling in love with a stranger, hazy memories, trying to act cool and keep composure, while getting lost on an emotional rollercoaster.”
The song drops today and is available on all major digital music platforms now.
