We’ve been fans of Bobby Van Jaarsveld since before we can remember and he’s creeping deeper and deeper into our hearts since his stint as a coach on The Voice South Africa. The show has introduced him to a wider audience and to convert them into fans; Bobby has released a brand new English single called ‘It’s Always Been You’ taken off his greatest hits album ‘Die Eerste 10 Jaar’. Since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, we can’t think of a better song to introduce the star to the English market!
Bobby may look uber young but his first few notes on the song beautifully show off his deep vocals. The track is a beautiful love ballad and shows off Bobby’s romantic side. Vocally, the song proves that Bobby’s voice has the depth to do big ballads alongside pop bangers. The song is beautiful and it has an old school sound to it. While it’s not a bad song, we wish Bobby went with a bit of a youthful sound – especially as many new audiences will be introduced to the singer with this song.
For the older fans, however, this solidifies why Bobby was chosen as a coach on The Voice. His ability to adapt to different genres and types of music is what has given him a competitive edge. Hopefully we’ll get a banging English single on his next album. In the meantime, we’ll be bumping this jam this month of love.
