Black Motion’s ‘Ya Badimo’ Goes Gold

2016 has been incredibly good to local dance duo Black Motion. The group has had a string of hit singles and launched their brand new album ‘Ya Badimo’ just in time for the festive season. Now, after just six weeks on shelf, the album has shipped an excess of 15 000 copies locally, giving it gold status.

‘Ya Badimo’ is a special record because it’s a 13-track offering that builds on the narrative they started unfolding in 2010 telling their life story through purpose-driven music. The group has always stood out of the crowd thanks to their summery beats, powerful lyrical content and epic delivery.

The album was released worldwide thanks to a global licensing deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa. Black Motion teamed up with some of Mzansi’s greatest local acts such as Chymamusique, Simphiwe Dana, Tresor, Madala Kunene, Tlokwe Sehume, Brenden Praise, Nokwazi Dlamini as well as frequent collaborator and long-time friend, Xoli M.

Black Motion’s Ya Badimo album is available on all good digital music platforms and music stores nationwide. Make sure to get a copy this festive season and listen out for their latest single, Imali, on your favourite radio stations.
