Black Motion Get The Party Started During NPR ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ Performance

NPR’s popular ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series quickly became a platform artists around the world wanted to be a part of. Artists like Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Troye Sivan and so many more have had iconic moments on the platform which, in turn, boosted its own popularity. The concept is simple, musicians perform their biggest hits live from their tiny desk set and show off their career-defining material often adding a little twist here and there.

When the pandemic started, musicians found themselves unable to perform at the Washington DC studio and acts started recording their performances remotely. This opened up a plethora of acts who could now take part in the series – which now includes an epic performance by our very own Black Motion.

The popular dance duo enlisted NS Productions to help record their set which was shot at former president Nelson Mandela’s Johannesburg home. Featuring a live band, surprise guest artists, backing vocalists and so much more, the performance turned out to be exactly what we have come to expect from Black Motion – a party!

Tracklist:

“Mayibuye iAfrica”
“Rainbow”
“Joy Joy” (feat. Brenden Praise)
“Marry Me” (feat. Msaki)
“Imali” (feat. Nokwazi)
“Prayer For Rain” (feat. Tabia)
