Just weeks after the release of his second studio album ‘Flamboyant’, local pop star Armand Joubert already has a new project in the pipeline. Next week, the singer drops a brand-new EP titled ‘Left With A Broken Heart’. The new project sees the singer embark on a new sonic direction as he branches out into the R&B genre. Ahead of the release, Armand has teased fans with a brand-new track off the project titled ‘Unfold’.
While the new project is inspired by artists like Babyface, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, Brandy and Mariah Carey and most of the project has a classic R&B sound, ‘Unfold’ has a heavy disco influence laced with R&B and pop elements to create something different.
“Unfold is about the frustration one faces when you’re in a relationship and someone is not honest with you, whether it’s friendship or romantically,” Armand says. “For so long I’ve tried to stick around and figure out what it is about certain people that put me off and why I couldn’t trust them – and I paid the consequences for that emotionally. Always follow what your heart is telling you because the devil disguises himself in light sometimes and we end up getting hurt by people we didn’t expect it from, but somehow we knew it was going to happen because you felt it in your gut. Trust your gut!”
