Swaziland born Singer and Songwriter Apple Gule real name Aphelele Gule, has signed with Sony Music Entertainment Africa. Born in Mbabane Swaziland, the talented 26 year older is no stranger to the airwaves, in 2017 he released his debut album SWAZiKiD, featuring his hit single ‘Fan Girl’, ‘Let My Love’ and ‘WaveG’bye’. Apart from his charting hits, Apple Gule has collaborated with Kyle Watson on their 2017 hit single ‘SOLACE’, and Crazy White Boy’s summer hit ‘Live your Music’. As a songwriter he has worked with, Kyle Cassim, DaCapo, Cuebar, Mickey K to name a few.
In his own words: ”For me Music is bigger than me the artist, it’s about a realization that anyone can do what they love if you put your mind to it – By mind I mean, everything. You should want to live it. My mission is to make it known that anyone can go into the world and make it. I aim for big things and with the right work ethic you can achieve it. Who said a kid from a small village in Swaziland can’t make it on the world stage? Just take small baby steps every day, come one year later those are now giant leaps.”
A genre bending artist Apple Gule views considers his music to be “Soulful-Pop”, “I wouldn’t want to ever put myself in a box but I’d say my style of music could be labelled as Soulful-Pop. I think I am the gap between genres. I have a very old school method of writing music, soulful music at that but I try to adapt it to new contemporary sounds and music. I don’t want to limit myself. As music changes I try change with it but keeping my soul element with it. I have a unique voice that is quite emotional too”.
2018 is setting up to be a big year for the rising star who will be releasing a brand new single titled Sink O’ Swim on Friday the 29th of June.
