Apple Gule, the star behind hits such as ‘In Your Life’ and ‘Wave G’bye’ had a massive 2016. He quickly shot to fame and has spent the past few months touring and working on his upcoming debut album ‘SWAZiKiD’. Now, ahead of the album’s release on the 21st of April, the star has dropped the next single off the project – a track called ‘Fan Girl’.
The first thing one tends to notice on the track is the artist’s interesting sonic approach. The R&B track has heavy electronic elements throughout the song. It’s a special sound which stands out of the crowd not only because it’s unique, but because it is so on point with the direction music trends are heading at. Vocally, Apple Gule shows off his smooth, flirty vocals which ooze confidence and charisma. Apple Gule isn’t afraid to do things differently and his risks are paying off.
“This is the follow up to my previous single ‘Wave G’Bye’ where that was a breakup song and I was exploring my emotions in a vulnerable place,” the singer says. “ In ‘Fan Girl’ I speak about a story where I have again found someone but I am not ready to commit to her as much as she wants to commit to me. In this specific situation she is only after me because of the starting of my success in my music career. So in essence, I am rejecting her and I just want her to be there to enjoy the music and my company but not ready to start another relationship. He continues, saying “’Fan Girl’ is my song to a woman who wants to ride a wave and I don’t think she deserves to be let in just yet.” He is an artist you should be keeping an eye on because I have a feeling big things are in store for him.
