Alex Warren Announces Sophomore Album ‘WILDCHILD’

Alex Warren is entering a new chapter. The GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter has officially announced his highly anticipated sophomore studio album, ‘WILDCHILD’, set for release on 28 August. Alongside the announcement, Warren has also unveiled his uplifting new single, ‘PASSENGER’, giving fans their first taste of the deeply personal project.

The infectious track arrives with an accompanying music video directed by Blythe Thomas and sees Warren leaning into the emotional storytelling and soaring melodies that have helped make him one of pop’s biggest breakout stars.

The album announcement follows a remarkable run for the 24-year-old artist, whose debut album ‘YOU’LL BE ALRIGHT, KID’ became one of 2025’s biggest success stories. The record has amassed more than 9 billion streams globally and helped Warren secure five iHeartRadio Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and Billboard’s Best New Artist of 2025 title.

While his debut album explored heartbreak, grief and personal struggles, ‘WILDCHILD’ appears to find Warren on a different part of the journey. “Growing up, my dad used to call me Wildchild, so it’s always had a special meaning and I even have it tattooed on me,” Warren shared in a statement. “Creating this album was really healing, therapeutic and a way for me to continue finding out more about myself.”

The singer explained that the project reflects both his growth and the lessons left behind by his late father. “This album really shows where I am in my life today and compared to my first album, which feels like a man who is broken, this one is a man who’s trying to heal,” he said. “It’s been really nice to be able to confront those feelings and also be able to share them with the world to give everyone a transparent view into my life.”

According to Warren, ‘WILDCHILD’ will continue exploring themes of loss, grief and self-discovery, while also embracing hope, resilience and healing. The album is expected to showcase the full range of the singer’s vulnerable songwriting and soulful vocals that have resonated with millions of listeners since his breakout in 2021.

The announcement comes on the heels of recent releases ‘Fine Place To Die’ and ‘Fever Dream’, both of which hinted at the more introspective direction of the forthcoming project. If ‘PASSENGER’ is any indication, however, WILDCHILD won’t be all tears and heartbreak. The euphoric single feels tailor-made for summer playlists, offering an optimistic counterpoint to some of the album’s heavier subject matter.

For Warren, it’s another milestone in what has become one of the fastest-rising careers in contemporary pop music – and if the success of YOU’LL BE ALRIGHT, KID proved anything, it’s that listeners around the world are more than willing to come along for the ride.

‘WILDCHILD’ arrives August 28. Watch the ‘PASSENGER’ music video below and read more music news here.
