It’s no secret that the country is obsessed with AKA. Every single time the rapper drops a new record, the song shoots up both airplay and iTunes charts. So, it’s no surprise that the Supa Mega’s new single ‘The World Is Yours’ became the most played local song on radio in the country (frequency) as well as the most heard local song on radio (reach – according to RAMS) this week.
AKA’s double #1 radio peaks comes just ahead of the highly anticipated music video debut of The World Is Yours, which was shot in Thailand, and is set to exclusively premier this Thursday, 2 February 2017 on Trace Urban and Trace Africa. The track will appear on AKA’s highly-anticipated new album which is due for release later this year.
The rapper has some big things planned for 2017 and kicks it off with the video for ‘The World Is Yours’ while promising lots more new music. While AKA has been dropping singles and featuring on tracks consistently over the past few months, he hasn’t released an album since ‘Levels’ came out in 2014. Mzansi is ready for the new AKA chapter and this year, he finally makes his return.
