Fifi Cooper Debuts New Album ‘Take Me Back’

Fifi Cooper is a powerhouse in the local hip-hop community. The female rapper has a string of hits under her belt and late last week, the star released her highly-anticipated sophomore album ‘Take Me Back’. The album is the first project from her new record label MoCooper Records and has already been a hit with fans around the country.

The 21-track album sees the rapper explore a variety of sounds and genres and has collaborated with a long list of artists including Moozlie on ‘Calling’ and Thabsie on ‘Emoyeni’ as well as a variety of new artists which makes the record an entertaining listen. The tracks have identified with hundreds of thousands of people around the country making them incredibly popular on streaming services and radio stations.

When asked why the album was titled ‘Take Me Back’, Fifi tells us that “I named it Take Me Back because in it, I am going back to my roots of Motswako. I did different things in the past because I was not in control of my creativity but now that I am my own boss, I will stick to what I know best.” Mooketsi then added: “I wanted the album to be released in August as my way of saying RIP to Mama Winnie [Mandela]. I appreciate her teachings and it is interesting that, women like me are still going through our own struggles,”
