Now that Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s smash hit ‘Despacito’ is in it’s cool-off phase, a new reggaeton smash is taking over the world. J Balvin and Willy William’s ‘Mi Gente’ has become a massive international single that has even been playing on radio stations here in South Africa. Now that the song has gained momentum, another superstar has added their vocals to the official remix. This time, it’s Beyoncé!
The song is the star’s first piece of new music since she gave birth to twins in June – and she’s doing it for a great cause. The singer pledged all profits garnered from sales of the new track to hurricane and earthquake relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She also linked to a page on her website with information on organizations where people can donate to support the victims of the last few weeks’ several horrific natural disasters.
“I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands,” the star wrote on social media. The feature is everything we hoped it would be and we have no doubt that the single will become an even bigger phenomenon now.
