Up The Creek Unveils First Wave Of Artists Ahead Of 2027 Festival

The countdown to summer’s ultimate long weekend begins today as Up The Creek Music Festival announces its highly anticipated return for 11-14 February 2027, promising four unforgettable days of live music, adventure and connection on the banks of the Breede River.

For over three decades, Up The Creek has carved out a reputation unlike any other festival in the country. It’s where generations of friends reunite, new musical discoveries are made, sunrise swims become tradition, and unforgettable moments happen both on and off the stage. Everyone feels welcomed at the Creek!

Set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of the Breede River and its home since 1990, the festival combines an incredible live music experience with camping, floating on the river, outdoor adventures, great food, and the kind of laid-back atmosphere that keeps festival-goers coming back year after year.

The first wave of artists set to take the stage can now be revealed, giving fans an exciting first taste of what’s in store for 2027. Leading the charge is South African rock icon Arno Carstens, joined by AKING, Barto, BCUC, Booshle G, Dierbaar, Georgetown, Keanan Eksteen, Magé, MaxX & Love, Pedro Barbosa, and SUGARBIRD. With more than 50 acts set to perform across four days, this first announcement is just the beginning, with plenty more artists and surprises still to come as the countdown to Up The Creek 2027 gets underway.

“Every year we challenge ourselves to create something that feels both familiar and fresh,” says Festival Director Caitlin Lotter, “Although live music is our core identity, Up The Creek has always been about so much more than just the music – there is a sense of community, groups of Creekers making the annual ‘pilgrimage’ back to the Breede, the sense of discovery, switching off from reality, disconnecting from the real world but connecting to the Creek. Although rugged, the setting IS the festival and we feel so lucky to be able to return every year!”

Whether you’re a seasoned Creeker returning for another chapter or planning your very first trip down to the river, 2027 is shaping up to be an edition you won’t want to miss.
