The lineup includes Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers, FX’s acclaimed hit The Bear, Hulu Originals Not Suitable for Work and Alice & Steve, 20th Century Studios’ Avatar: Fire and Ash, Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97 Season 2, and the long-awaited Camp Rock 3, alongside ESPN’s continued live coverage of marquee sporting events including the NBA Finals, TOP 14 Rugby Final, Premier Padel Tour, FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup and the return of the NFL season.
Here’s an inside look at what is coming our way (well, what has been announced at least):
June Highlights
- June kicked off with Hulu Original “Not Suitable for Work” (2 June), now streaming on Disney+, from Mindy Kaling, following five ambitious twenty-somethings navigating careers, relationships and personal chaos in Manhattan.
- Launching today, Disney and Pixar’s outrageously original, adventure-packed comedy “Hoppers” (3 June) invites audiences to experience the wonderful and wild animal world that exists right in their own backyard – from the comfort of home. The wildly imaginative animated adventure follows animal lover Mabel as she uses a groundbreaking technology to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver, uncovering a hidden animal world shaped by its own rules. Alongside charismatic beaver King George and an unforgettable community of local wildlife, Mabel embarks on an action-packed mission that invites audiences to experience nature like never before.
- Also available from today, “Will Trent” Season 4 (3 June), inspired by Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novels, sees Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) tackling gripping new cases.
- Coming next week, the six-part Hulu Original series from the UK “Alice & Steve” (8 June) is a hilarious, messy and complicated exploration of friendship, family and love. The anti-romantic comedy asks the question: how far would you go for love – or revenge?
- National Geographic’s “Best of the World with Antoni Porowski” (8 June), with all episodes available at launch, sees Antoni Porowski explore extraordinary destinations inspired by National Geographic’s iconic “Best of the World” franchise.
- FX’s Emmy® Award-winning “The Bear” (26 June) returns later this month for its fifth and final season, with Carmy, Sydney and the gang back in the kitchen. As the new partners band together with the rest of the team for one final service, the question remains: will the restaurant finally earn that elusive Michelin star?
- One of the year’s biggest cinematic releases, 20th Century Studios’ “Avatar: Fire and Ash” (24 June), the latest instalment in James Cameron’s groundbreaking “Avatar” franchise, sees Jake Sully, Neytiri and the Sully family return to Pandora for an immersive new adventure.
- Sports fans can also catch major live moments on ESPN’s channels available via Disney+, including the NBA Finals and the TOP 14 Rugby Final.
July Highlights
- July begins with the return of Marvel Animation’s Emmy®-nominated series “X-Men ’97” Season 2 (1 July), continuing with the heroic mutant team divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.
- Also joining the line-up in July is “R.J. Decker” (14 July), following former newspaper photographer and ex-con R.J. Decker as he starts over as a private investigator in the colourful, crime-filled world of South Florida. Tackling cases ranging from slightly odd to outright bizarre, he is helped by his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy woman from his past who could become his greatest ally – or his one-way ticket back to prison.
- ESPN’s live coverage continues throughout July and beyond, including the Premier Padel Tour and a packed football calendar featuring leagues from across Europe and beyond.
