Local dance hitmaker TiMO ODV has been releasing experimental singles over the past year and he’s finally back with a new body of work as he continues to share his unique take on dance music with South African fans.
The new album features many of the singles the star has released throughout the year as well as a few remasters and two brand-new songs. The new single and title track ‘We Here To Stay’ features Afrikaans hip-hop icon Biggy, who fans will remember for his catchy hit single ‘Dames’. The song shows off a side to Biggy we never knew existed and is a fresh and catchy dance track we cannot wait to hear on the dancefloors this summer.
The second new track is titled ‘How You Really Feel and is another melodic techno track that features TiMO’s signature bassline, atmospheric sounds, and arpeggiated minor melodies.
When South Africa went into a strict lockdown in 2020, TiMO decided to spend this time by focusing on writing and producing new music without any pressure. “I am busy trying to grow in all areas of my life, especially music,” he says. “When I first erupted onto the scene, I was pretty much swept up into a whirlwind, and it took some time for me to start enjoying producing music as much as I did back in 2014.”
