As a former pop star with girl group Seduction and now a judge on the popular reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race, Michelle Visage has a massive fanbase around the world. But, while she’s appeared on a few of RuPaul’s tracks over the years, Michelle hasn’t released a single of her own since 1992 – until now.
The reality star has teamed up with British pop group Steps (yes, the same group behind ‘5,6,7,8’ to release the pop anthem ‘Heartbreak In This City’.
The track is a remix of the version released last year on Steps’ latest album ‘What The Future Holds’ and Michelle’s addition gives the song an entirely new life.
“To say that I’m honoured to record a song with pop icons STEPS is the understatement of the year. With the state of the world today, we all need music that makes us feel good, and trust me when I tell you, Heartbreak In This City is an absolute BOP!” Michelle says in a statement. “After years of dreaming about it, for at least a moment in time, I can officially be “Michelle from Steps”! CAN SOMEONE PINCH ME PLEASE? I hope everyone loves listening to it as much as I loved recording it!”
Steps bandmember Ian ‘H’ Watkins adds “I love Heartbreak In This City and we thought Michelle would be PERFECT to take it to the next level. I am the world’s number one Drag Race superfan and beside myself she’s joined us on the song!”
