Yesterday, social media was abuzz with the incredible rendition the Ndlovu Youth Choir gave of U2’s ‘Beautiful Day’ on America’s Got Talent. Now, after a nail-biting results show, the group has made it through to the show’s semi-finals, cementing the fact that they’re one of the most exciting choirs in the world right now.
The group’s musical director Ralf Schmitt took to social media to express his excitiement and gratitude at the news saying “We’re through to the semifinals of America’s Got Talent, the worlds’ biggest show. We’re living the dream and loving every moment of it. Thank you to everyone who loves and supports us, we love you back!.”
In an interview with Jacaranda FM, Schmitt adds that “Flippen hell, it’s crazy. It’s amazing, we can’t believe that we’re in the semi-finals of the world’s biggest show. We’re a choir from Moutse in Limpopo, it’s a dream come true. We’re living the dream, we’re loving it and thanks for all the love we’re getting from SA, we really appreciate it.”
However, the group will need to prove themselves if they want to stay in the competition. The choir found themselves in the bottom two during the results show and the final decision was left in the hands of the judges who opted to save the group and push them through to the semi-finals.
We’re beaming with pride and we can’t wait to see what the group does on the show next.
