As always, the Metro FM Awards are pretty much a big deal and sort of set the tone before the South African Music Awards which take place in April. This year, there was tons of Glitz and Glamour at the ICC in Durban where the 14th Annual Metro FM Awards took place.
Top winner of the night went to hip-hop newcomer Cassper Nyovest who took home some of the major awards including Best Male Album of the year and Song of the Year for his smash hit Doc Shebeleza. The track was HUGE all across the country so I don’t think it shocked many people seeing the track, and Cassper, cleaning up at the awards this year. Other big winners on the night included The Soil, Lloyd Cele and Naima Kay.
