Local radio personality Renaldo Schwarp is making a big move in his radio career as he officially joins Bloemfontein-based radio station OFM as host of ‘OFM Nights with Renaldo Schwarp’, which airs weeknights between 19:00 and 21:00. As he makes his mark on the popular station, Renaldo is excited to reveal that he will also host the 12:00 – 16:00 slot on Sunday afternoons as well.
On his new role at OFM, Schwarp says that he is thrilled at the opportunity and that the move to weeknight commercial radio has been in the pipeline since his days on campus radio. “I can’t wait to spend my evenings and weekends connecting with the wonderful people of central South Africa. The stellar team at OFM fully understands family, fun, and ‘feel good’ – I’m excited to be part of that.”
He adds “I’m looking forward to wrapping up listeners’ evening with a big smile. Great music and unforgettable conversations are what ‘OFM Nights’ is all about”.
The 29-year-old previously hosted shows on CapeTalk, Smile 90.4 FM, and more recently, Jacaranda FM – where he also headed up the station’s digital portfolio. TV audiences will recognize him as presenter and producer of various lifestyle and actuality shows.
Despite the move, the radio DJ adds that he will continue his TV work as a field presenter on kykNET & Kie as well as all the other projects he is currently spearheading through his PR and production company Sharp Pictures.
