A decade in and three studio albums deep, Matthew Mole remains one of South Africa’s greatest pop performers. His last album ‘Ghost’, released back in 2019, spawned the hits ‘Let Me’, ‘Keep It Together’ and ‘Back To You’ and now, Matthew Mole is ready to begin his new musical era as he premieres his brand-new single ‘Goodbye’.
Describing his latest heartfelt, gut-wrenching anthem as a declaration of victory and turning your back on the things that are trying to keep you down, Matthew’s no stranger to seamlessly articulating universal relationship themes and placing them atop arresting melodies. “We’ve all been through a lot recently,” Matthew tells us. “And we’ve had to find ways to overcome, so hopefully, this song will be an encouragement to people in difficult circumstances.”
He adds “I believe in the power of declaring victory in the face of adversity and ‘Goodbye’ is an anthem of defiance, punctuated with a confident and convincing arrangement in support of it all.”
The words that make up the verses and chorus permeating “Goodbye” come from paying attention to the world around him. “Living and experiencing life is the genesis of every track that comes to me,” Matthew declares, “and I’m moved to words by those who encourage me along the way.”
