We’re just a few weeks away from Pride Month here in Mzansi and local queer icon Lyle Anthony has dropped a stunning visual to his important anthem ‘Love Wins’. Released in February this year, this is the first bit of new music from the former Popstars member in a while – and does not disappoint.
Inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic and the hate the star saw around the world, ‘Love Wins’ is a reminder that being kind to one another is so much more powerful than hate. “‘Love Wins’ was birthed on the onset of Covid-19 when I saw the need for a fun-loving, happy song during the crisis that left so many saddened, lost and especially with the political climate in America where I live and around the world,” Lyle explains.
He adds “I felt that so many people needed a reason to laugh, dance and sing again. It inspired me to get into the lab, write and produce ’Love Wins’. The song is about love, all different types of love, love through inclusion, self-love, self-acceptance and how through love we can win again.”
Now, Lyle has premiered the official music video for the track – and it’s everything we hoped it would be! From a gay love story to some epic choreography, stunning visuals and an important message.
