After their massive collaboration with Ugandan duo Radio & Weasel ‘Done’, Locnville is back with another banging new single ‘Better With Time’. This time around, the duo shares the production load with local producer AirDee and continue their collaboration mission as YoungstaCPT jumps onto the track with an epic verse.
‘Better With Time’ is the next single off Locnville’s highly-anticipated follow-up album which will be their first since 2016’s ‘Taste The Weekend’. The duo is used to pushing themselves creatively and their new sound sees them sit comfortably within a pop, electronic and hip-hop space. Locnville continues to explore more melodic hooks which complement their swag and attitude and YoungstaCPT, the rapper on everyone’s lips at the moment, delivers an exquisite verse which elevates the power the track holds.
On the production front, the duo and AirDee (who has produced for Cashtime Life, L-Tido, Yanga, Psyfo, Anatii and iFani amongst others) seem to bring out the best of each other and the experimentation in the studio has brought something fresh to life. The sound is proudly South African and amalgamates the best of the many genres and sounds taking the local music space by storm today.
“This track is one of those tracks that just feels good. We didn’t spend too much time thinking about it,” Locnville’s Andrew Chaplin tells us. “We’ve worked with AirDee on a few other projects and he’s a dedicated and super talented producer, it makes such a difference to produce with someone who knows what they’re doing and who can take a beat to that next level. To get YoungstaCPT on the track was really the cherry on top, I’ve got a huge amount of respect for what he represents and he really works on this one.”
