After dropping his new single ‘Inside My Head’ and ‘For The Girls’ earlier this year, Danny K is back at it again with producer Sketchy Bongo as he drops his new single ‘Lit’. Danny K is preparing the release of his new album and the new music has definitely seen the star take a different approach to the music he has created in the past.
The single is interesting and I haven’t posted about it earlier because I needed a few spins to wrap my head around it. The production is fire and the melodic part of the chorus is banging. Vocally, Danny still sounds great. I like that he has adapted his sound in the direction pop music is taking across the world as he adds dance elements and vocal tweaks. However, I can’t help but feel that Danny K is a bit lost. I don’t think this is a sound he is completely comfortable in. That being said, his passion shines through and I am glad that he is experimenting with his sound.
Danny’s string of new songs see him team up with local producers – something he hasn’t really explored until recently. “For many years my music was made and produced overseas, and for a time that was cool, but I am such a believer that we have so much exciting talent right here at home. It has become totally unnecessary to rely anything other than our own abilities,” he says. I cannot agree with him more. I really enjoyed his ‘Good Look’ album and I’m excited to see what he comes up with this time around.
