Jeremy Loops Teases New Album By Dropping New Single ‘Freak’

With just over two weeks to go until the release of Jeremy Loops’ highly-anticipated second studio album ‘Critical As Water’, the era seems to be starting off well. The project’s lead single ‘Waves’ is doing incredibly well on radio stations around the country and buzz track ‘The Shore’ has also been met with a positive response. Now, as we near crunch time, Jeremy has released the second single off the album titled ‘Freak’.

Produced by Wills Hicks (who has worked with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Bastille and more), the song has a subtly reggae undertone under his signature guitar-driven sound and sees the star deliver something a little unexpected. The song shows off a different side of the star and we’re glad he’s stepping out of the box on this project. The lyrical content pokes fun at the comical levels of materialism in mainstream music today. “’=I love rap music and enjoy the odd pop record too, but the content often feels so contrived, to the point of being absurd. I find joy in many of the things I’ve found joy in since I was young,” the singer explains. “The things that don’t cost millions of dollars to take part in. I feel like most of us are like that, and we’re just resigned to being constantly sold on bling and private yachts. And if it makes us freaks for rejecting and laughing at what pop culture is trying to sell us, then so be it.’”

Jeremy refuses to play it safe and the sound isn’t what you’d traditionally expect to hear on pop radio. However, the song is different, exciting and fresh and hints that we actually have no idea what to expect on the star’s upcoming record. ‘Freak’ is now available as an instant grat track when pre-ordering ‘Critical As Water’ alongside ‘Waves’ and ‘The Shore’.
