Over the past few months, One Direction member Niall Horan released the first taste of his upcoming debut solo album. ‘This Town’ and ‘Slow Hands’ were incredibly well-received and set the tone for the star’s new chapter. Now, Niall has announced that his debut solo album ‘Flicker’ will be out on the 20th of October.
Alongside the announcement, the star dropped the third taste of the record – the heartbreaking ballad ‘Too Much To Ask’. The song shows off a softer side of Niall. The tender vocals, heartfelt lyrics and emotional delivery makes this the perfect pop ballad. The production is more subdued than his previous two singles which also allows the star to deliver one of his strongest vocal performances to date. The direction he’s taking seems pretty similar to fellow The X Factor contestant Olly Murs and it seems to be working for him.
“My new single ‘too much to ask’ is out now. I’ve been waiting for ages for you to hear it, hope you enjoy it,” Niall tweeted shortly after the song released. “It’s a very special song to me and I hope you like it.” Meanwhile, Niall also announced that he would finally be releasing his debut solo album next month. “It’s been a long time coming but I’m delighted to announce that my new album Flicker is out on the 20th of October,” he says. “I hope you enjoy it.” This Niall Horan chapter is shaping up to be one of the most promising pop records of 2017 and we’re really excited to hear what he has in store for us on the upcoming record. ‘Too Much To Ask’ is now available on all major digital platforms.
