Win Tickets To Bastille’s South African Tour

It’s Bastille Day today – a day in which we commemorate the storming of the Bastille prison in France back in 1789. It was an important day because it was a turning point in the French Revolution . It was a moment when the monarchy knew that change is coming. It’s also Dan Smith’s birthday which is why he decided to name his band Bastille. The indie pop group is behind hits such as ‘Flaws’, ‘Pompeii’ and ‘Of The Night’ and they’re making their way to South Africa this October for shows in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

“We’re really excited about heading back to South Africa for these shows,” says Smith. “We had such an incredible time playing in Cape Town and Johannesburg a few years ago, so we can’t wait to head back again with some new music and a date in Durban as well.” The inclusion of Durban will make for a special visit for the indie pop sensations, with frontman Dan Smith having a close affiliation with the coastal city. Smith’s parents met and found love in Durban shortly before crossing the Atlantic to settle in London, England. In fact, the group released a single titled ‘Durban Skies’ – a tribute to their love.

So, because today is a rather special day, I’m spreading the love. I’ve got a pair of double tickets to give away for the band’s Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban shows. Want ‘em? Simply leave a comment in the comments section below telling me why you’re excited to watch Bastille live. Remember to add your name, surname, email address and city you’d want to attend the show as well. Easy, right?

Competition closes on the 28th of July 2017. Ts & Cs apply and judges decision is final.

Tickets are on sale now at Webtickets.

Bastille has been one of my top 3 groups I have always wanted to see live. I have loved every piece of music they have released. A few years ago they were heading to SA and this was after I had left JHB to go back home. It was a point of being rock bottom. I still contacted a dear friend and saved up the money to get me a ticket. But closer to the time I had not been in a good space financially and could not afford to head up to Jhb hence having to sell my ticket. Since then I have always said I will see them live in SA if not I will one day see them live in another country because I love their music. So I have been extremely excited since hearing about them performing in SA again and I am back in JHB and would love to see them live!

  4. It would be honestly amazing experience spending the night with my best friend, singing loudly and dancing the night away with this band. And it would be in the BEST CITY, Cape Town.

  5. From the first moment I heard Bastille I fell in I love with their music and every song has a meaning behind them. I would love to surprise my best friend (also a big fan) with tickets to the concert because we are ready to sing and dance all night long. Fingers crossed we get to see the amazing band live as it would be a dream come true !

  6. Hi
My daughter is the most energetic funloving person I know. She has always been a very active fan of Bastille and as she has a lovely voice herself loves to sing along. She has just completed her studies and has never been to a live show. All tickets are sold out in Durban. Please consider making her the happiest young girl by enabling her to enjoy a live performance by her nr 1 band.
    Thank you
