With five number one hits under his belt, award-winning singer-songwriter-producer prodigy Daniel Baron has cemented his place as one of South Africa’s greatest pop stars. Known for his constantly evolving sound and bold cross-genre antics, Baron’s monumental success has stemmed from pop-rock anthems such as ‘So Much More’ to the more recent dance-floor chart-crusher ‘Children Of The Sun’. He recently took to social media announcing that the release date of his upcoming 3rd studio album will be 16 June 2017.
“I truly believe that these are the craziest yet possibly the best songs I have created yet. I have always believed in breaking musical boundaries, fusing genres & even generating new sounds — most importantly I believe that music is here to inspire and bring joy to humanity (Music is a gift from God), and I think I have accomplished a bit of the above,” Daniel admits.
Today his fans will be happy to know that ‘Weekend Of Mass Destruction’ is now available for pre-order exclusively on iTunes and Apple Music. However, the good news does not end there. Daniel has released a brand new single titled ‘Weekend’ which will be instantly made available to those that pre-order the album.
“’Weekend’ is about celebrating love and destroying hate in one colossal earth-shaking party. It’s kind of a trailer for the album,” Daniel adds.
There is no holding back in this new single, which is riddled with infectious hooks and supercharged by a playful yet poignant anthemic chorus. Hints of Spanish meets Middle-eastern-style guitar create a cross-cultural firework display of blazing sonic colours.
