As Daniel Baron puts the final touches on his highly-anticipated fourth studio album, the singer has released a ‘Private Show’ – the follow-up single to his smash hit ‘Beautiful Noise’. This time, Daniel takes an Afro-pop approach as he teams up with super-producer Sketchy Bongo and Aewon Wolf.
Daniel has been pushing himself creatively more than ever over the past year. ‘Children of the Sun’ became one of the most important songs of his career as he introduced himself to a new audience and played around with a new sound. On ‘Private Show’, Daniel does it again while still dabbing in the pop, house space. African beats have been instilled in our being and it’s great to see just how much Daniel has been influenced by the local sounds. While many artists are striving to get an “international sound,” Daniel accomplishes this without compromising his identity – something that, with the help of Sketchy Bongo, has been managed here.
A place where Daniel constantly shines is his ability to write hits. Lyrically, the song is beautifully crafted and Daniel does a fantastic job on the delivery as well. The singer shows off his vocal range and control on the song as he effortlessly blends between his lower and higher register. Aewon Wolf features on the track and adds a ton of value to the song. He takes the song to another level with his verse. The two vocalists complement each other nicely and I have a feeling this will be one of the greatest collaborations of 2017.
“‘Private Show’ is one of those songs that came together so effortlessly and naturally in studio,” Daniel tells me. “I watched Sketchy magically create the beat and then the melodies and the lyrics quickly appeared in my mind.
