I love watching artists I love cover another’s music. These days, covers make part of almost every live show from world-class performers, however, there’s a dedicated radio slot on BBC’s Radio 1 that puts these covers under a microscope. Live Lounge has become a massive part of the brand with almost each cover going viral and after seeing what Ed Sheeran did to Little Mix’s ‘Touch’, it’s easy to see why.
The singer is almost ready to release his upcoming third album ‘÷ (Divide)’ on the third of March which comes after a year away from the spotlight. However, when asked to perform a cover on Live Lounge earlier this week, there’s a reason he picked Little Mix’s new smash hit ‘Touch’.
“Can I say that the one concert I went to last year [was Little Mix]. I didn’t go to any gigs and I was in Milan and I’m a Little Mix fan girl,” Ed said. He added: “Who isn’t [a secret Little Mix fan]? I rarely meet boys now who don’t like Little Mix, they just have hit upon hit, there’s not a song that comes out that I’m not like, ‘Oh, that’s gonna be in my head for a month now.’ They’re always on point.”
So, the singer gave his signature acoustic spin to the massive pop track. Think he did a good job? Listen to the song below and let me know in the comments section.
