Calum Scott Surprises Cape Town Crowd With Local Pop Sensation Will Linley

Calum Scott knows how to make a moment, and Cape Town got one to remember.

During his sold-out Avenoir Tour stop at Kirstenbosch Gardens this week, the British hitmaker stunned fans by bringing out South African pop breakout Will Linley who joined Scott to perform his single ‘Lighthouse.’ The crowd erupted as two artists from opposite sides of the world shared one of the city’s most iconic stages.

The Kirstenbosch show marked Scott’s biggest South African visit yet and another milestone in his deepening relationship with local audiences. Towards the end of his set, Scott surprised fans by bringing out the Cape Town local who has been making major waves in the music space.

Scott first heard Linley’s music while doing an interview on KFM with Carl Wastie. Curious, Scott asked who it was. Wastie didn’t hesitate to shine a light on our local popstar and he immediately got Linley on the phone. The two connected, and the impression clearly stuck.

When Scott returned to Cape Town, he reached out and invited the young artist to join him for a hometown surprise.

The Avenoir Tour continues tonight in Durban, followed by Pretoria tomorrow. Limited tickets remain via Webtickets, and if Cape Town is anything to go by, fans might want to expect the unexpected.
