Mzansi crooner Tellaman returns with brand-new music this week, and it’s laced with nostalgia! The star has premiered his much-anticipated summer single ‘LM4M (Love Me For Me)’ – and it’s got a surprising sample that South Africans will instantly recognise – Jamali’s smash hit ‘Love Me For Me’.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of preserving music that inspired us and introducing it to people who may haven’t heard it before. Sampling and remixing is another way of keeping these legends and their music alive”, he states.
Lyrically, the track speaks about the uncertainty of a loved one’s intentions, something everyone can relate to, but more importantly, gives Tellaman the opportunity to pay homage to one of his favourite tracks of all time in the process.
With full lyrics and production by the man himself, the track is quintessential Tellaman with heart-felt, yet fast-flow R&B vocals. His ‘90’s-based inspirations of Brandy, T-Pain and Darkchild luckily haven’t left him and the distinct sound of an era revisited comes through clearly on ‘LM4M’.
‘LM4M’ is the first track off the brand new EP, ‘Good Regardless’, preparing to be dropped on the 11th November. “Good Regardless is the continuation of my musical memoir,” the crooner tells us. “This evolution equally reflects my growth as a producer and the title is not only a statement that speaks to where I am as a musician, but also to the music on the tape , it’s “Good Regardless”.
The EP features guest production from L.D Beats, Blasian Beats with executive production by Select Play, as well as features from long-time collaborator and friend Nasty C, Ricky Tyler & CrownedYung. It also explores Tellaman’s evolutionary take on new age RNB/Hip Hop/Soul since his debut album ‘God Decides’ – and he cannot wait for the world to hear it.
