He’s one of the hottest acts in Amapiano right now and this week, De Mthuda releases his highly-anticipated new album ‘The Landlord’.
‘The Landlord’ is a 13-track listening experience fusing Maskandi and Afro-pop influences, while stripping Amapiano back to the instrumentals which pioneered the sound. The project features the singles ‘Emlanjeni’, ‘Jola’, ‘Mhlaba Wonke’ and ‘Khanda Liyazula’ – and has already proven to be a hit with fans across the country.
Sonically, the album is grounded in contemporary Amapiano and a union of the future of the sound. Throughout the album De Mthuda fuses other musical genres including Afro-pop, Deep Tech and Maskandi. Not only that, but the album is the celebration of De Mthuda’s continued praise for upcoming voices in Amapiano.
