Over the past few weeks, Nigerian pop star CKay has sat comfortably on the top of Shazam’s global 200 as the most Shazamed song in the world. Week on week, the song has gained momentum as platforms like TikTok and Instagram has helped catapult the song to global audiences on a large scale. Now, the star celebrates his most successful week yet.
This week, the song climbs to #37 (on the Spotify Global 200). The original version, as well as the North-African Remix ft ElGrande Toto & the licensed Dj Yo! & AX’EL version are moving up the Spotify charts across 50+markets from all regions. The track reached #1 on the Global Viral 50, with charts everywhere.
CKay debuted on the Billboard Global U.S. and Billboard Global 200 charts # 21 and #30, respectively, whilst the Afrobeat sleeper hit drew 27.8 million streams worldwide in the week ending September 16
Ckay’s “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) [Remix] with Joeboy & Kuami Eugene records 55.8 million views on Global YouTube during last week. It is the biggest global weekly sum ever for a Nigerian song and ranks at #4 on this week’s global Youtube chart.
These massive numbers are making an impact on charts around the world. This week, CKay debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 80 while the track reaches a new peak of number nine on the official UK and Irish charts, number 12 in Germany, number two in the Netherlands and France and peaks at the top of the Swiss charts as well.
