Pop powerhouse Halsey made waves when she premiered the official cover art for her just-released new album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’. The cover shows the pop star sitting on a golden throne holding a baby (not her newborn) with her bare breast exposed – a powerful nod to the Madonna-whore psychological complex of how women are perceived as either motherly figures whose bodies are vessels for childbearing or sexual beings
. The new mom’s highly-anticipated fourth studio album is finally here.
Following her previous album ‘Manic’, Halsey has dropped 13 powerful new tracks executive produced by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The album features an array of special guests including Dave Grohl, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, The Bug’s Kevin Martin, Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, Pino Palladino, Karriem Riggins and Meat Beat Manifesto.
To celebrate the album’s release, Halsey also premiered the music video for the project’s new single ‘i am not a woman, i’m a god’ which features some kick-ass synchronised swimming.
