It’s a sad day for the entertainment industry as legendary actor Sean Connery has died at 90 years of age.
The Oscar winner and James Bond star was a prolific figure in the global entertainment space. In fact, the Scottish actor was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000 and celebrated his 90th birthday in August this year. His death was confirmed by his family, according to the BBC.
Sir Sean died overnight in his sleep, while in the Bahamas. It is understood he had been unwell for some time.
While Connery was famous for his portrayal of the famous spy James Bond, he also cemented himself as a diverse actor in films like “The Wind and the Lion,” “The Man Who Would Be King” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”
His portrayal of the spy in 1962’s “Dr. No” made him an international star and grew even more popular in the sequels sequels “From Russia With Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Never Say Never Again.”
