Hot off the heels off his self-isolation anthem ‘Ring Of Roses’ and radio smash ‘Back To You’, Evida returns with a brand-new banger this week titled ‘You & Me’. The singer and producer continues to push boundaries when it comes to his music and the way he delivers his message to his audiences and on this new track, the star opens up about a break-up in an incredibly relatable way.
Joining him on the track is Manana and Boskasie who bring a real conversation to life in a really unique way through the song. Sonically, the song is an ode to the horns of the 1950s with an afro-dance flair while Evida’s signature dark sound creeps its way in throughout the song.
“‘You & Me’ one of those tracks that makes you want sing along at the top of your lungs whilst driving down the highway. I’m honoured to be working with Both Manana and Boskasie on this track they are at the forefront of amazing ZA artists. They are both very different in terms of style which gave the track its mix of flavours. Its crazy to think that the drop was actually for a Mr Eazi remix I was doing in like 2018. its turned out beautifully!”
On working together, Boskasie adds “A synergy so beautiful from the moment the three of us met. With those types of energies present when creating music, the product is bound to be powerful.” Manana agreeably said “Honestly it’s not often that you get to write a song with such ease. Working with Boskasie and Liam is just that, we were able to be honest and free to give or take suggestion without questioning each other’s intent, putting the Art first.”
“You & Me” comes on the high of , “Back To You” the original mix which has over 200k streams on apple music alone and the remix by Cuebur which sat at number 1 on national radio dance charts as well as both remix packs that followed.
